🧪 Usage Instruction

Initial Setup

1. Unpack the kit and familiarize yourself with the color chart and reagent bottles.
2. Label the test tubes (e.g., pH, high-range pH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate).
3. Fill each tube with 5 mL of test water.
4. Refer to the instruction booklet for the correct number of drops of each reagent (usually 3–5 drops).
5. Cap and invert tubes gently to mix; wait the specified time (30 sec–5 min depending on test).
6. Compare the color result to the laminated chart under good lighting.
7. Record the values to establish a baseline for your tank's water quality.

Maintenance Testing

1. Test water weekly, or when adding fish, plants, or treatments.
2. Repeat the steps above for each parameter.
3. If levels are off:
• High ammonia → perform partial water change + use treatment like Seachem Amguard, Seachem Prime or add beneficial bacteria like Seachem Stability.
• High nitrite/nitrate → water change, check filtration or consider adding live plants.
4. After dosing treatments, retest after 24 hours to ensure stability before reintroducing fish.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: What parameters does this kit test?
A: It measures low and high-range pH, ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate—the most crucial for freshwater environments.

Q: Is it really enough for 800 tests?
A: Yes! With 7 reagent bottles and glass vials, this kit provides over 800 tests covering all five parameters.

Q: Why are there two pH tests?
A: There’s a low-range pH test for pH < 7.4 and a high-range test for 7.4–8.0+. You choose whichever is appropriate based on your tank’s typical pH .

Q: How accurate is it compared to test strips?
A: Much more accurate. Users often say strips are “nowhere near as precise,” and the master kit gives professional-grade results.

Q: The kit doesn’t include GH/KH testing—what’s missing?
A: That’s correct—it lacks hardness (GH) and alkalinity (KH) tests. Though sufficient for most setups, if you're keeping invertebrates or sensitive species, add a separate GH/KH kit

You may return most new, unopened items within 7 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).

If you need to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.

We can ship to virtually any address in the world. Note that there are restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations.
