🧪 Usage Instructions

Initial Setup (Starting iron supplementation):

• Shake well before use.
• Dose: Use 5 mL (1 capful) for every 200 L (50 US gallons) of aquarium water.
• Dose only when needed, based on plant response and iron test results.

Maintenance Dosing (Ongoing plant health):

• Dose 1–2 times per week or as required to maintain iron levels around 0.1 mg/L.
• Use in combination with Seachem Flourish, Flourish Trace, and macronutrient supplements for balanced nutrition.
• Monitor plant coloration and growth for signs of iron deficiency.

Q: Why is ferrous iron better than ferric iron for plants?
A: Ferrous (Fe²⁺) iron is more soluble and bioavailable, allowing for direct uptake by plants, unlike ferric iron which must first be reduced.

Q: Will Seachem Iron cause algae growth?
A: No, when used correctly. Iron supports plant health, which in turn outcompetes algae for nutrients. Avoid overdosing.

Q: Can I use Seachem Iron with other fertilizers?
A: Yes! It is designed to be used alongside Seachem Flourish, macronutrients, and trace elements for complete dosing.

Q: How do I know if my plants are iron deficient?
A: Common symptoms include yellowing between leaf veins (chlorosis), stunted growth, and pale new leaves.

Q: Is Seachem Iron safe for fish and shrimp?
A: Yes, when used as directed. It’s formulated specifically for planted aquariums with fish and inverts.

You may return most new, unopened items within 7 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).

If you need to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.

We can ship to virtually any address in the world. Note that there are restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations.
