Initial Setup (First-Time Use)

• Test your water first. Check nitrate levels before dosing using a reliable test kit.
• Target range: Aim for 1–2 mg/L of nitrogen (equivalent to 4.4–8.8 mg/L nitrate).
• Start with a low dose to avoid shocking your reef system:
• Add 1 mL of Reef Nitrogen per 80 L (20 US gallons) to raise nitrogen by 0.1 mg/L.
• Monitor daily for the first few days after dosing.
• Adjust based on how your corals, macroalgae, and nutrient levels respond.

Maintenance Dosing

• Routine dosing: Based on consumption, dose as needed to maintain 1–2 mg/L nitrogen.
• Recommended frequency: Every 2–3 days or as required by test results.
• If using automatic dosing systems (e.g., aquavitro® sentia™ dose), program dosing accordingly for steady levels.

Q: Do I need to dose Reef Nitrogen if I already have fish in my tank?
A: Not necessarily. Fish waste can supply nitrogen, but in ultra-low nutrient reef systems, nitrogen may still become deficient—especially if phosphate is present without nitrate.

Q: Can I overdose Reef Nitrogen?
A: Yes. Always test first and dose gradually. Too much nitrogen can lead to algae growth or stress sensitive coral species.

Q: Is this safe for all reef inhabitants?
A: Yes, when used correctly. It’s safe for corals, macroalgae, inverts, and fish. Follow dosing guidelines carefully.

Q: How do I know if my reef tank needs nitrogen?
A: Signs include pale or slow-growing corals, receding macroalgae, and nitrate readings at 0 ppm for extended periods.

Q: Can I mix Reef Nitrogen with other Seachem supplements?
A: Absolutely! It’s designed to work best alongside Reef Phosphorus™, Reef Trace™, and other reef-specific Seachem products.

Q: Is this product the same as adding nitrate?
A: Technically yes—but Seachem Reef Nitrogen offers inorganic nitrogen in a measured, controllable form without unwanted byproducts.

You may return most new, unopened items within 7 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).

If you need to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.

We can ship to virtually any address in the world. Note that there are restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations.
