Malawi/Victoria Buffer

Initial Setup:

1. Preparation:

   • Water Preparation: Dissolve the buffer in freshwater before use. This ensures even distribution and effectiveness.
   • Dosage: Use 6 grams (one level teaspoon) for each 40 to 80 liters (10 to 20 US gallons) of water.

2. Application:

   • Setting Up an Aquarium: Add the dissolved buffer solution to the aquarium water. This can be done when setting up a new tank or during water changes.
   • Adjusting pH: Add the buffer daily until the desired pH is attained and maintained. The target pH range is between 7.8 and 8.4.

3. Additional Tips:

   • Use with Other Products: For optimal results, use Seachem’s Cichlid Lake Salt and Cichlid Trace alongside the buffer to replicate the natural environment of the lakes.
   • Monitoring: Regularly test the water pH to ensure it remains within the desired range.
     

Maintenance:

1. Regular Dosing:

   • Frequency: After achieving the desired pH, use the buffer as required to maintain it, usually no more than once every two to three weeks.
   • Dosage: Continue using 6 grams per 40 to 80 liters of water as needed.

2. Water Changes:

   • Routine Maintenance: During regular water changes, add the buffer to the new water to maintain consistent pH levels.
   • Dissolve Before Use: Always dissolve the buffer in freshwater before adding it to the tank.

3. Monitoring and Adjustments:

   • pH Testing: Regularly test the aquarium water to ensure the pH remains stable. Adjust the buffer dosage if necessary.
   • Combining Buffers: If a lower pH is needed, use Seachem’s Acid Buffer in combination with Malawi/Victoria Buffer. For a higher pH, use Tanganyika Buffer.

1. Can I use this buffer in a marine aquarium?
   Yes, it is suitable for both freshwater and marine aquariums.

2. How often should I use the buffer?
   Typically, you will need to add it every two to three weeks, but this can vary based on your specific aquarium conditions.

3. What should I do if my pH is higher than desired?
   Ensure you are using DI or RO water as your source water. If the pH remains high, it may settle down to a more stable level over time.

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
