🧪 Usage Instructions

Initial Setup:

1. Rinse Thoroughly – Before use, rinse the BioBrick with clean RO/DI or tap water to remove dust from shipping.
2. Placement – Place the BioBrick in a high-flow area of your sump, filter chamber, or canister filter to ensure optimal water contact.
• For marine setups, place it after mechanical filtration to avoid clogging.
• Can also be used in media baskets or biological reactors.
3. Optional Seeding – For faster biological activity, you may dose a live bacteria product (e.g., Aquavitro Seed or Seachem Stability) directly onto the brick.

Maintenance:

• Do not scrub or wash with tap water during regular maintenance to preserve beneficial bacteria.
• If flow becomes restricted or the brick appears clogged with detritus:
• Gently rinse with tank water during a water change.
• Do not dry out completely during cleaning—keep moist to maintain live bacteria.
• No regular replacement required; BioBrick can last for years if maintained properly.

Q: What makes WaveReef BioBrick different from other biomedia?
A: BioBrick is made from over 4 million ceramic nanospheres fired at 1800 °C, offering unmatched porosity and surface area—up to 1,080 m² per block—ideal for colonizing beneficial bacteria.

Q: Can I use BioBrick in both freshwater and saltwater aquariums?
A: Yes, the BioBrick is suitable for all aquatic environments, including freshwater, saltwater, reef tanks, and planted tanks.

Q: How many BioBricks do I need for my aquarium?
A: One BioBrick is typically enough for tanks up to 380 liters (approx. 100 gallons). Larger systems or high-bioload tanks may require more.

Q: Do I need to replace the BioBrick over time?
A: No. The BioBrick is long-lasting and reusable. Just rinse gently with tank water if clogged—never use soap or tap water to clean.

Q: Can I stack multiple BioBricks together?
A: Yes. You can stack them or arrange side-by-side for larger filtration capacity, as long as water flow can reach all surfaces.

Q: Will it help reduce nitrates and phosphates?
A: Yes. With adequate colonization, BioBrick helps complete the nitrogen cycle and can assist in lowering nitrate and phosphate levels when properly maintained.

You may return most new, unopened items within 7 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).

If you need to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.

We can ship to virtually any address in the world. Note that there are restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations.
